به گزارش رجانيوز، روابط ویژه مهدی و سیف به سال‌های قبل باز می‌گردد، به‌طوری که این دو نفر در تعدادی از پروژه‌های تجاری و اقتصادی نیز با یکدیگر شراکت و رفت‌وآمدهای متقابلی به ایران و لیبی داشته‌اند.

بر اساس اسناد موجود، یکی از سفرهای مهدی هاشمی به لیبی که به دعوت سیف‌الاسلام بوده به مهر ماه سال 86 باز می‌گردد. در یکی از این اسناد، علي سرلك مسئول دفتر مهدی هاشمی در هیأت امنای دانشگاه آزاد در نامه‌ای به تاریخ 29/6/86 به سفیر لیبی در تهران، می‌نویسد:

«نظر به سفر جناب آقای مهندس مهدی هاشمی بهرمانی برابر دعوت سيف قذافي خواهشمند است دستور فرماييد نسبت به صدور وزيرا اقدام مقتضي مبذول فرماييد.»

وي در نامه ديگري به تاريخ 3/7/86 نيز زمان پرواز و ورود مهدي هاشمي به شهر تربپولي ليبي را اعلام مي‌كند.

سيف قذافي چند روز قبل در واكنش به انقلاب مردم ليبي، خبرنگاران رسانه‌هاي خارجي را به كاخ خود دعوت كرد و اعلام كرد كه همه جا آرام است.

دستور كشتار معترضان در جريان ناآرامي‌هاي ليبي از سوي سيف قذافي صادر شده است. پسر معمر قذافي رهبر ليبي در فيلمي كه در اينترنت منتشر شد از نيروهاي نظامي و هواداران نظام حاكم مي‌خواست كه تظاهركنندگان را به قتل برسانند. سيف الاسلام در اين فيلم مسلح در ميان پليس و هواداران نظام حاكم ايستاده و خواهان كشتار مخالفان پدرش است. وي در اين جمع گفت: امروز بايد به كساني كه مي‌گويند پليس به آشوب گران پيوسته است، پاسخ دهيم. اين كشور كشور شما است.

سيف قذافي در لندن ويلاي مجللي دارد. او قیمت فروش این ویلا -واقع در منطقه "هامستد گاردن" لندن- را 10 میلیون و 950 هزار پوند (حدود 18 میلیون دلار) اعلام کرد اما پس از ناآرامي‌هاي ليبي از فروش آن منصرف شد و گفت قصد اجاره دادن آن را دارد. با اين حال، وي اگرچه مبلغ كمتري از ميزان واقعي براي اجاره دادن اين مكان اعلام كرده اما بنگاه‌داران اين منطقه مي‌گويند كسي مايل به اجاره ويلاي او نيست.

این ویلای سه طبقه دارای هفت اتاق خواب و یک اتاق پذیرایی بزرگ است همچنین یک باغ، استخر شنا، سینما، اتاق سونا و دو اتاق غذاخوری ونیز بالابر و سیستم الکترونیکی امنیتی است.

مهدي هاشمي نيز كه شهريور ماه سال گذشته از كشور به مقصد لندن خارج شد، علي‌رغم احضاريه‌هاي قضايي هنوز به ايران بازنگشته و عمدتا در پايتخت انگليس به‌سر مي‌برد.

Tehran, March 3, (Rajanews)-  Saif al-Islam Muammar al-Gaddafi special relations with Mehdi Hashemi Rafsanjani returns to long years ago. They shared lots of common economic and business projects. There was large traffic between Mehdi and Saif during the past decade. Mehdi had lots of travels to the Libya which 2007 travel is one of them.

According to the letter below; Azad University board of trustee’s bureau chief, Ali Sarlak asked the Libyan ambassador in Tehran to facilitate Mehdi’s travel to Tripoli, according to the Saif al-Islam invitation.

London seems to be their loved refuge, as Mehdi has escaped to London after being summoned by Iran judicial system, accused of different financial, political charges. Saif also cancelled the selling of his villa in London after Libya uprising against his father dictatorship. Analysts believe saif also could escape to London after the fall down of his father dictatorship.

Mehdi Hashemi Rafsanjani is a son of Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, the former president of the Islamic Republic of Iran and current Chairman of the Assembly of Experts and of the Expediency Discernment Council, and patriarch of one of the "best connected and most influential of the families" in Iran.

“Mehdi Hashemi Rafsanjani himself as of 2004 was a director at National Iranian Gas Company and heads the unit. In 1997, Mehdi Hashemi Rafsanjani, the then-head of state-owned Gaz Iran Company, reportedly received a $80,000,000 bribe from Total oil company, to give Total a favorable contract in gas fields. The alleged bribery, which was made public in 2007, has been denied by Mehdi Hashemi, who has threatened the newspapers publishing the story with prosecution. The CEO of Total, Christophe de Margerie, is currently under investigation in France with regards to this incident. Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, Mehdi’s father, an influential cleric indirectly supported pro-western oppositions in Iran. His daughter Faezeh and her son Mehdi Hashemi — a refugee in London — were reportedly involved in Mousavi’s election campaign” the western media reported.

Saif al-Islam Muammar al-Gaddafi is the president of the Libyan National Association for Drugs and Narcotics Control (DNAG). Saif also performs public relations and diplomatic roles on behalf of his father. He has been mentioned as a possible successor, though he has denied this.

On February 20, 2011, he made an extemporaneous speech on Libyan state TV. In it, he blamed the unrest in Libya on tribal factions and Islamists acting on their own agendas, drunken and drugged. He promised reforms, and said the alternative would be civil war causing no trade, no oil money, and the country taken over by foreigners. On February 28, 2011 a video became available online in which Saif Qaddafi appears to spur on a crowd of followers to commit violence against the opposition, and promises weapons to them, even brandishing an automatic.

In 2006, Saif al-Islam Muammar Gaddafi was romantically linked to the Israeli actress, Orly Weinerman. In 2009, he threw a party in Montenegro for his 37th birthday. Notable guests included Oleg Deripaska, Peter Munk and Prince Albert of Monaco. He previously hosted similar parties in St Tropez and Monaco.

Gaddafi is a British socialite who has been hosted at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle by the British royal family. Gaddafi claims that former Prime Minister Tony Blair is a personal friend who took an interest in advising Libya on oil revenues and finance. In 2009, he spent a weekend at Waddesdon Manor, home of financier Jacob Rothschild, 4th Baron Rothschild, where he was the guest of Lord Mandelson and Nathaniel Philip Rothschild. He later stayed at the Rothschild holiday home in Corfu. Nathaniel Rothschild was a guest at Saif's 37th birthday celebration in Montenegro.
